Big Moose and Squirrel

Last night on CBS 2 Action News a story was reported about a Moose that wandered onto the Merritt Parkway in Connecticut and was unfortunately severely injured. The Connecticut highway patrol had to put the Moose out of its misery. The news anchor then advised that the resultant Moose meat was being donated to a local food bank. Am I the only one who thinks this is a bit odd? I mean, I know it was like 600 pounds of meat, but still.
